Jasmin

I continue with my rediscovery and attempt at bringing myself out of my photo blues with an almost outright refusal to take on clients or do any sort of photography, so I am calling up on a few of my old muses and old friends to help motivate me back to where I enjoyed creating. This isn’t necessarily anything new for me, this is my writers block, my photographers blank film if you will.

Jasmin and I have history. She was my muse, my confidante, my best friend, et al, you can make what you want of that; everyone else did, she was all that at one time. I say this because what once was no longer is, we have reconciled of course but it’s not the same as it was for any number of reasons, but I digress. She was always a great muse and so I reached out again to do an easy random let’s go hang out and test my new lenses and camera.

It was a beautiful day at Plaza de España, a light breeze, the warmth of golden hour beginning to set in, the sound of children laughing whilst the birds chirped overhead, it was actually quite nice. The following photos I wanted to compare the depth of field obviously there will be a difference, but I wanted to see how much of a difference there would be, check it out below.

fujifilm xf50mm f/1

the dreamy look of the xf50mm f/1 is amazing, and the focused subject in comparison to the out-of-focus parts is quite clear, there is a snap between focus and out-of-focus.

zeiss touit 32mm f/1.8

For this lens more is in focus but the bokeh is nonetheless still quite wonderful.

It was a great day for testing and rekindling our artist/subject relationship and we got some great images whilst testing out the gear. I have a few more shoots and tests lined up for the next couple weeks and I will usually shoot and edit over the weekend and have new content posted Tuesday ChST so come back and check it out.

I will also be testing the video of the X-T4 and as such will be posting more regularly to my YouTube channel and as soon as I remember what that username is I will create another post talking about it, in the meantime please check out the images from the shoot below. Thank you!
