Getting that shot no matter what,...

I have always tried to get the shot, bordering on stubbornness, sometimes at the risk of injury or with little regard for my safety. Some would agree that this is good, while others criticize this behavior.

I have not gone to the lengths others have, so does this make my work less than others? Do those that risk some or all have better work?

I came across this thought process because my work partner suggested ideas, and one idea she suggested was taking risks when shooting. I do not take unnecessary risks, but I will 'bend' my understanding of the law and walk on a beach as I think it's a public area, or take photos in front of a building, etc.

One thing she suggested as a subject matter was to discuss my size because I am a big guy, and even though I'm 'big,' I squat down low, damn my knees, and/or squeeze into some of the tightest space for 'the shot.'

Shooting as I age has become a challenge. I cannot amble up a jagged rock formation as easily as I used to. I now think twice before jumping into a situation.

Another 'fun' thing for me is squeezing into small areas or getting on my knees, I'm a big guy, and my knees ain't what they used to be! LOL! But you know what, when I'm not thinking about it and just thinking of the shot, I actually end up in those positions just to get that shot; it's the getting up and getting out that an issue. LOL!

The point is that I am laser-focused on creating the image I see in my head, so I will do what it takes to get that shot!
