Ami + Voigtlander lenses
As time plods forward I’m starting to or not starting so much as continuing my ‘search’ for meaning with what I do in my art. Of course, it’s a different story when I’m hired to take photos, the meaning there is purely commerce as it’s what I do. And of course, so I can keep it fresh for my clients, I do these searches so that I can always get to my client with a fresh outlook and not do things just to do things.
fujifilm x-t4 w/voigtlander 50mm f/1.5 asph.
this photo of ami was shot using the aforementioned combination, I enjoy using manual focus lenses on my cameras and even vintage lenses because of the wonderful character of the lenses.
That being said, I am still searching but I’ve decided that for my personal projects etc., I will shoot w/film and be as manual as possible, prior to that since I’ve already got a few film cameras as well as manual lenses, it shouldn’t be too difficult to do that.
So a bit ago I took Ami on an exploratory shoot and I used my Fujifilm X-T4 w/ my Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.5 asph. and I borrowed a Leica/Minolta CL w/Rollei Sonnar 40mm f/2.8 lens; and I loaded it with Ilford Delta 100 Film and also a roll of Fujifilm Fujicolor Pro 400H, sadly one of my last rolls, I really love that film.
I have had this growing desire to finally getting myself a film Leica camera, perhaps the M6 or the M7, I’ll figure it out and get what suits my need and continue on my process of searching for better meaning with what I create and hopefully find what I’m looking for.
