Shay + Leica SL
Shay comes to me by way of social media. I don’t always entertain requests when I am queried, ‘how do I get to work with you?…’ which usually is a way for someone to ask if I can shoot them for free, which is not to say that’s a bad thing as I am always willing to help anyone out, I figure its time for me to ‘give back’ especially after others have helped me tremendously, but I digress.
What I really wanted to say was that because every so often when I am asked I do get a sort of second sense that this person would be someone I can create stuff with and that I should do it, Shay was one of those subjects.
I missed shooting in a studio, so that’s how we started. I know a few of these photos are seemingly outdoors as they are, we walked outside and took some shots out and around the studio.
I shot all these photos with my Leica SL. I do have a Sigma 45mm DG DN Contemporary Lens that I tried using, but there’s an issue with it and I haven’t used it lately, I used it for the first 2 photos and I didn’t like what came back so I switched to my Voigtlander 50mm f/1.5 nokton asph lens, a manual lens, and it was incredibly better to use.
These photos were all shot wide open and if I was able I shot at ASA50.
