Photographing models, the particulars

This post can be considered a continuation of my previous entry about finding models. I'm in the middle of an 'open casting call' or 'cattle call.' I'm getting a lot of questions and apparent queries because people want to know what they're getting into.

The standard questions I receive are, 'What are you looking for?' or 'Are you specifically looking for female models?' I also get the occasional question, 'What exactly does this entail?' Or perhaps, 'Do I have to pay for the shoot?' or 'Will I be compensated for this?' or 'Will this lead to potential job offers?' or 'Where will these photos be used?' and 'Will I get copies of these photos?' These concerns are valid, and I need to provide the necessary information to address them.

These questions are typical, so you have to be prepared to respond to them. You need to identify precisely what you're looking to do, whether it is for something coming up or just compiling a list of models you can reach out to later on for an editorial job you may have. You must also respond to whether you will pay or charge the models. As for the compensation, [details about the compensation such as whether it's a paid shoot, if there are any additional benefits, etc.].

These are all questions you may or may not receive. Once in a blue moon especially, because in my case, the photos I take are considered sexy by most, 'Will you be taking photos of this and that' usually about their, for lack of a better word, their 'bits' and because that isn't the style I do, I always inform them precisely what I will shoot. If I have samples, I will show them as well.
