Hit the streets

What if you could do street photos and bring a model with you to control aspects of what you shoot.

You get a friend to come out, have her bring a couple of dresses or whatever outfit suits her, have her get makeup done, and go for it; oh, and you also bring a couple of other friends to hold lights and reflectors and wander around 'town' for a bit. What would that be like?!

We did just that: We went to the streets of Guam, well, down in Tumon, and then took my friend Ixora to model. My friend Michele did makeup, and Dino was my grip. Voila, these photos are what we got!

At the time, my go-to camera for stills, and I was in love with rangefinders, was the Fujifilm X-Pro2. I have since sold it, but I think I should not have sold it; it was a great little camera. For lights, I was using my icelight, another fantastic creation that I was fascinated with at the time.

So armed with an idea, my trusty X-Pro2 and my two friends Ixora, the model, and Dino, my grip, we set out to create, and it was great fun! There were so many things that didn't always go our way, and obviously, because we shot in Tumon, there were too many people wandering about, but for some of the shots, it worked well!
